CKRx

The mixed media collages that make up the body of work titled CKRx were created from destroyed artwork. Numerous archived works were destroyed and used in collages, among them were photographs, drawings, paintings, digital prints, and portions of the artist's comic book collection.

The signs evident in those destroyed artifacts are placed in the context of new compositions, allowing the viewer to impose their own personal interpretation on the abstract work, interpolating their own experiences of reality onto the meaning of the composition.

The collages from CKRx were shown at group shows at the OGA in Rome, ARC Gallery in Chicago, and presentations by Envision Arts.

Special thanks to Kamla for her rejection of these works due to their lack of an explicit ethnic identity, namely, a lack of an embrace of "Nativeness",
that was actually rather validating,
and to Jessi for her vital and life-changing input during the creation of these works.
